Route network

The NordWestBahn operates four routes in the Weser-Ems region:
RE 18 (Osnabrück – Oldenburg – Wilhelmshaven)
RE 19 (Bremen – Oldenburg – Wilhelmshaven)
RB 58 (Osnabrück – Bremen)
RB 59 (Wilhelmshaven – Esens)

Fare areas

The NordWestBahn route network connects different fare areas. The NordWestBahn agreed on a cooperative fare arrangement together with Deutsche Bahn AG, while the tariff regulations of the regional transport associations and transport associations apply in the regional transport area networks. This means that you can get your travel documents reliably from a single source - conveniently at the ticketing machines on all our stops or at our service and sales offices in Osnabrück and Bremen.

Offers such as the Schönes-Wochenende-Ticket [weekend ticket], Niedersachsen-Ticket [Lower Saxony-ticket], Quer-durchs-Land-Ticket [Across the country ticket], SchönerTagTicket NRW [North Rhine-Westfalia ticket] and the Bahncard discounts are of course also valid with the NordWestBahn. Thus, you have the usual fare system when travelling by rail.

Ticketing machine

At the end of the year 2016, there will be an important transition for all travellers in the Weser-Ems region. You will no longer find the ticketing machines on the trains but at the stops. The following will apply: "Only board with a valid ticket". Starting on 11th of December, you must always buy and validate your ticket in the Weser-Ems network prior to boarding. Otherwise, a €60 additional fare will be charged.

Customer Centre

The friendly staff at our service offices are the right contact for your travel needs: What is the next route to Wilhelmshaven or Paderborn? Information on the tourist offering in the Osnabrück area? The competent service team can provide advice, reserves tickets and takes care of the connection with long distance transportation, the bus or ferry. You can get rail tickets which are valid in all of Europe and the team will - upon request - also assist you with your entire travel planning.
